Facebook is planning to further expand its presence in the eastern markets as its overall growth begins to falter.
The social networking giant is looking to countries like China, Russia, Japan and South Korea for the next phase of expansion.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted that although the platform was growing at a massive rate, its weekly growth rate had fallen significantly.
Zuckerberg added: “Now for the first time we are focused on doing some specific things in specific countries.”
Currently the platform has just over 500 million users world wide

Yahoo! and Facebook have announced that they will be bringing features from both services closer together. This will allow users of Yahoo! to easily share information with facebook, including Yahoo’s most popular services Flickr and Yahoo! Answers.
There will also be revamped privacy settings for users of Yahoo! allowing you to control what is being shared over to Facebook, Yahoo will also be doing a complete overhaul of the Yahoo user profiles giving people more control over their privacy.
The name given to the new Yahoo/Facebook mix will be Yahoo Pulse.
